Day dreaming

I'm just dreamin' of the days
when I can lift this haze,
thinkin' of the ways,
the choices I've made,
the people I affected
with the things I said,
I never intended disrespect
it's just the way you take it,
and if it's genuine
or if you just faked it,
playin' life like it's a game
with infinite lives just to be wasted,
but when it's game over
your love's replaced with hatred,
and you keep saying that's what fate did,
but the inconspicuous and the blatant
messages you missed have all explained it,
life is not a game,
you just over-played it.
spent your time constantly debatin',
but never standing up
for yourself and sayin',
I am me
and no one could ever change it,
I seek peace - in the truth
it's up to you on how you take it,
I speak for the weak and the ill fated,
life is not a game
I never chose to play it,
but it is a dream, so it better be
mine and the best that I can make it.
